National Cappucino Day + National Harvey Wallbanger day

Today is all about drinks! I love finding any reason to celebrate, even if it’s for just a few minutes!

I got up and headed over to Starbucks (it’s super conveniently close by) and got a cappuccino to drink as I got some work done this morning. It’s great to sit and sip on coffee with the blinds open on a chilly, but sunny Saturday afternoon. Enjoying the last few days of relatively nice weather before the “polar vortex” that’s predicted to happen in a few days.

As I was drinking my cappuccino, I found some fun facts about them. They were invented in Italy in 1901 by Luigi Bezzara. It’s name comes from the Italian word “cappucio” which means hood because of the foam on top which serves as an insulator and allows the liquid to maintain its heat for a longer period of time.

I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to participate in national Harvey Wallbanger day today because it’s off to bed early for me. I’m running the hot chocolate 5k early tomorrow morning. My family was happy to participate in this one though! I love that even my family is getting excited about this little project of mine!

These pictures are of my dad and aunt Jeri enjoying their drinks. Apparently the Harvey Wallbanger got it’s name when a man named Harvey was found banging his head against a wall after one too many of these. I sure hope that’s true because that’s a hilarious backstory!

Tomorrow I’ll be celebrating World Freedom day!
